Volleyball Recap: Las Animas Comes Up Short

Las Animas lost against Rye back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trojans came up short against the Thunderbolts, falling 3-0.

Las Animas was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Rye work for it, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-3, 26-24.

Jadann Eck paced Las Animas' offense, picking up four kills. Eck got some help from Johanna Alvarado and her four assists.

Las Animas' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Rye, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Las Animas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Manzanola on the 4th. As for Rye, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Pueblo Central on the 4th.
