Basketball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Georgia Force Christian's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Georgia Force Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 83-76 to the Georgia-Cumberland Academy Jaguars. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (72), the Blue Knights still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Georgia Force Christian still got an impressive performance from CJ Britt, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 29 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Those 29 points gave Britt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter McCarn, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Georgia Force Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Georgia-Cumberland Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Samms, who posted 30 points. Samms is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaden Carter, who had 23 points.

Georgia Force Christian now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Georgia-Cumberland Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Georgia Force Christian and North Georgia HomeSchool will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Georgia-Cumberland Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against CSTHEA at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
