Shelby-Rising City's Kade Pinneo rumbled for the longest rushing play in D1 District 4 (8 Man) this season in his game against High Plains last week. Pinneo's team fell to the Storm as he sprinted for 54 yards on the play and finished with 57 in all.
Shelby-Rising City lost to High Plains 61-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Pinneo ran for 57 yards in the defeat.
Greg Wood's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jabe Wurtz threw for 106 and 4 touchdowns and Cole Klingsporn had 84 yards receiving. On the ground Logan Engel contributed 136 yards. Trey Engel helped High Plains' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 59 yards.
He was 6-8 with 0 interceptions.
Engel was a passing and rushing force as the Storm topped the Huskies. He completed 7 passes for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 136 yards. Engel's key target this week was Klingsporn, who caught 4 passes for 84 yards.
Klingsporn was the best wideout in the league this week as High Plains defeated Shelby-Rising City. Engel helped High Plains' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 59 yards.
The Storm's Engel and Klingsporn led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Engel has thrown for 946 yards this season, while Klingsporn has 21 catches for 379 yards. Nebraska Christian's Carson Huenefeld leads the league in rushing yards with 591.
A big matchup in D1 District 4 (8 Man) this week will be when High Plains takes on Cross County. At the moment, the Storm are in first, while the Cougars are in fifth.
High Plains led the league in scoring this week by notching 61 points on the Huskies. Wurtz ran for 51 yards during the win.
