Baseball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Edison back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs fell 9-5 to the Golden Bears. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jefferson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Urdiales, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Urdiales has become a key player for the Mustangs: the team is 7-3 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-10 otherwise.

Jefferson now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Edison, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

When Jefferson and Edison next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Mustangs will square off against Burbank and their three-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Jefferson 4, the Bulldogs 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Edison will try to stop Brackenridge's three-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
