Concord Academy hadn't done well against Hickory Grove Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Lions. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

The win snapped Concord Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-4-1 record. As for Hickory Grove Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Concord Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Gaston Day at 4:30 p.m. on the 14th. Meanwhile, Hickory Grove Christian will square off against rival Gaston Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
