Basketball Recap: Albany Skates Past Binghamton with Ease

On Saturday, everything came up roses for the Albany Falcons against the Binghamton Patriots as the squad secured a 65-38 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-12.

Albany had a senior duo take command as Azera Gates posted 18 points along with seven assists and five boards and Mia Corazzini dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most boards Corazzini has posted since back in December of 2023. Nyona Austin was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten boards and three blocks.

Albany has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Binghamton, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Albany will face off against Academy of the Holy Names at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Binghamton, they will take on Maine-Endwell at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
