Basketball Recap: Jenna Guentert Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ganado

There's no place like home for Schulenburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Ganado Indians with a sharp 44-20 victory on Friday. The Shorthorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Schulenburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jenna Guentert, who posted eight points and five steals. Alana Herzik was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Schulenburg pushed their record up to 16-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.7 points per game. As for Ganado, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Coincidentally, Schulenburg and Ganado will both be playing Bloomington the next time they take the court. Ganado will host Bloomington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Schulenburg will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
