Recap: Mott Corsairs vs. De La Salle Collegiate Pilots
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Mott Corsairs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 45-19 walloping at the hands of the Pilots on Saturday. Mott's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
De La Salle Collegiate got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sante Gasperoni out in front who threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Damion King IV did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Mott's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for De La Salle Collegiate, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
Mott does not have any more games scheduled as of now. De La Salle Collegiate will head out on the road to face off against Muskegon at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Muskegon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
