Waterloo is a perfect 10-0 against Shoals Christian since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Flame at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Waterloo's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Shoals Christian has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Waterloo's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Covenant Christian 10-0. Considering the Cougars have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Georgiana Kavich, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Covenant Christian off the board. Kavich has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Claire Cooper, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Clara Lambert, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Shoals Christian fell victim to Covenant Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.
Shoals Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kathryn Husainy, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Waterloo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Shoals Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Waterloo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Shoals Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Waterloo was able to grind out a solid win over Shoals Christian when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 8-5. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Flame have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
