Softball Game Preview: Millennium Falcons vs. Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans

The Millennium Falcons are taking a road trip to challenge the Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Millennium will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Millennium barely beat River Islands the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons put the hurt on the Riptide with a sharp 17-3 victory on Friday. Considering the Falcons have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Hayden Faaborg made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Millennium let Lanie Gonzalez and Nora Coutts run wild. Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Coutts went a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Coutts has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Washburn, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Aspire Langston Hughes Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 25-0 to Ben Holt College Prep Academy.

Aspire Langston Hughes Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Millennium, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Millennium took their victory against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 14-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
