Desert Vista hasn't had much luck against O'Connor recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Desert Vista is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Desert Vista is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Corona del Sol, who was ranked first at the time (Desert Vista was ranked 14th). The Thunder came up short against the Aztecs on Tuesday, falling 10-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Thunder, who until this game were averaging 4.04 runs allowed.

Desert Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex McKee, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for O'Connor, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Mountain Ridge on Wednesday as they made off with a 10-1 win.

The team relied heavily on Brent Sollars, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

O'Connor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

O'Connor's record now sits at 18-9. As for Desert Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 16-9.
