Volleyball Recap: Campo Verde Coyotes vs. Horizon Huskies

Campo Verde lost against Horizon back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Coyotes took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 17-25, 25-21, 25-16.

Several Coyotes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Riley Swezey, who had 14 digs and 11 assists. Adeline Braegger was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.

Horizon was led to victory by Isabelle (Isa) Mcilroy and Milania Ottaway. Mcilroy had 11 digs and one assist, while Ottaway had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Ottaway has posted since back in September. Tessa Caldwell also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Campo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Horizon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7.

Coming up, Campo Verde will venture away from home to take on Notre Dame Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Horizon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Boulder Creek on the 10th.
