Baseball Recap: Ossining Comes Up Short

Ossining extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-7. They came up short against the Port Chester Rams, falling 12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pride of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

As for Port Chester, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-11. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Port Chester's part, Bryan Sachs and Alexander Alvarez made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Sachs tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Alvarez didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Sachs went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Alvarez went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Alvarez is becoming a predictor of Port Chester's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-1 (and 3-10 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Sebastian Gonzalez was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Port Chester: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Roy Morris III, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.

As of now, neither Ossining nor Port Chester have any future games scheduled.
