Baseball Recap: Hemet Wins Going Away Against JW North

Hemet came out on top against JW North on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Huskies. The Bulldogs not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th (when they won 22-0).

Terrance Bogendymont looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Jhaydon Ruiz was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alijah Briseno, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Hemet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hemet moved to 9-13 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for JW North, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hemet will host Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 4, the Patriots 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for JW North, they will welcome Tahquitz at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
