Basketball Recap: Mulberry Grove Comes Up Short

Mulberry Grove lost against Odin/Patoka back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mulberry Grove Aces fell 57-49 to Odin/Patoka.

When it comes to explaining why Mulberry Grove lost, don't look at Jackson Icenogle. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 16 en route to 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Icenogle a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Landon Sugg, who posted 12 points and eight boards.

Mulberry Grove now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Odin/Patoka, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Mulberry Grove will venture away from home to take on Father McGivney Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mulberry Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. As for Odin/Patoka, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Red Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Red Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Odin/Patoka likes a good challenge.
