Basketball Game Preview: Tipton Tigers vs. Wilton Beavers

After both having extra time off, the Tipton Tigers and the Wilton Beavers will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tipton is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Regina just ended the team's three-game winning streak last Friday. They took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Regals. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Regals are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, Wilton was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 75-56 fall against Mid-Prairie. One positive for the Beavers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Tipton now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Wilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Tipton came up short against Wilton when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-44. Can Tipton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
