Softball Recap: Ironwood Ridge Has No Trouble Against Sahuaro

Ironwood Ridge won the last time they faced Sahuaro and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Nighthawks blew past the Cougars 20-3. The Nighthawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Evangeline Quezada was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Derissa Price, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Ironwood Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Ironwood Ridge and bumps their season record up to 13-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Sahuaro, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.
