Basketball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen East's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Morristown-Hamblen East unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearden Bulldogs. While the Hurricanes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 19-13 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Morristown-Hamblen East lost, don't look at Harmony Sullivan. Despite the final result, she shot 6-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 31 points and 11 rebounds. Sullivan's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hall, who posted six points and five boards.

Morristown-Hamblen East's defeat dropped their record down to 28-7. As for Bearden, they pushed their record up to 32-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Morristown-Hamblen East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bearden, they will host Whitehaven on Thursday.
