Softball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 24-6 to the Compton Early College Rising Phoenix. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rising Phoenix this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 31-0 back in February.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Compton Early College, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on Leuzinger at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Compton Early College, they will face off against Lennox Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rising Phoenix's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 12.7 runs per game this season.
