DeMatha had won two straight games and Ashton (Ace) Meeks did his part to make it three on Sunday. The Stags narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Clinton Grace Christian Eagles 64-62 thanks in part to Meeks, who went 10-for-23 en route to 29 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of DeMatha's points.

Another player making a difference was Daniel Abass, who posted four points and ten boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played.

DeMatha's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Clinton Grace Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
