Baseball Game Preview: Rio Hondo Prep Kares vs. Flintridge Prep Wolves

The Rio Hondo Prep Kares will head out to face off against the Flintridge Prep Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Rio Hondo Prep is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Flintridge Prep on Tuesday. They lost 14-2 to the Wolves. The Kares' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Flintridge Prep's part, Rocco Sablan looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Will Grable was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Flintridge Prep: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Aparicio, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Flintridge Prep lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February of 2025.

The win got Flintridge Prep back to even at 8-8. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1.
