Soccer Recap: St. Stephens Takes a Loss

St. Stephens's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the East Lincoln Mustangs by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, St. Stephens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 141st, while East Lincoln are ranked 27th).

This is the second loss in a row for St. Stephens and nudges their season record down to 5-5-3. As for East Lincoln, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Stephens will head out to challenge North Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Stephens will need to watch out since North Iredell have now posted at least four goals in their last three contests. As for East Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against West Carteret at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
