Softball Game Preview: Atascadero Greyhounds vs. Cabrillo Conquistadores

The Atascadero Greyhounds will head out to challenge the Cabrillo Conquistadores at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Atascadero has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Atascadero came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-0 to Pioneer Valley. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 12, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Cabrillo beat San Luis Obispo 5-1 on Wednesday. The Conquistadores haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Cabrillo's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Atascadero, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Atascadero took their victory against Cabrillo when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
