Baseball Recap: Delavan Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Delavan's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They skirted past Varsity Opponent 6-4.

Colton Miller was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Miller was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Trace Kight-Garlisch looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk).

Back at the plate, Braden Arrenholz was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Corbin Soldal, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Delavan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Delavan will face off against ROWVA/Galva/Williamsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Legion Collegiate Academy on Monday. Varsity Opponent has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with seven straight losses, while Legion Collegiate Academy will come in with six straight wins.
