Basketball Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short

Sterling was the 79-66 winner over Madison when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders were dealt an 83-37 loss at the hands of the Marlins on Monday.

Sterling lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Joseph Morales, who shot 83% from the field to rack up 12 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Jones, who posted 12 points.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Madison, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sterling will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Milby at 11:15 a.m. on the 20th. As for Madison, they will be taking part in a tournament against Fort Bend Dulles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
