Basketball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Knights vs. Cumberland Pirates

The Blue Ridge Knights will take on the Cumberland Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blue Ridge has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 13 straight defeats, while Cumberland will come in with four straight wins.

Last Monday, Blue Ridge came up short against Unity Christian and fell 42-30.

Meanwhile, Cumberland won against Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine on Thursday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. Cumberland claimed a resounding 59-25 victory over Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Cumberland's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Blue Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Blue Ridge was dealt a bruising 55-12 defeat at the hands of Cumberland in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Blue Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
