Football Recap: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Skates Past Christ School with Ease

While Rabun Gap-Nacoochee put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Christ School. The Eagles claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over the Greenies. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 26th in Georgia, while the Greenies are ranked 125th in North Carolina) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Lindo led the charge by rushing for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Lindo's longest rush was for an impressive 68 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Owens, who rushed for 70 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 352 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Benjamin Weisser and Troy Dottin. Another thorn in Christ School's side was Jay Schell, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles (4.0 for loss).

The win got Rabun Gap-Nacoochee back to even at 4-4. As for Christ School, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coincidentally, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee and Christ School will both be playing Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Greenies will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
