Football Recap: Leverett's Chapel Comes Up Short

Leverett's Chapel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Apple Springs Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the Lions' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Leverett's Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Apple Springs, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leverett's Chapel will welcome Greenville HomeSchool Athletics at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Archers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Apple Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Campbell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
