Recap: Trumann Wildcats vs. Blytheville Chickasaws
The Trumann Wildcats were the 31-15 winner over the Blytheville Chickasaws when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Trumann took a 30-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blytheville. That's two games in a row now that Trumann has lost by exactly six points.
Despite the loss, Trumann still got an impressive performance from Jake Osment, who rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns. Osment is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
This is the second loss in a row for Trumann and nudges their season record down to 4-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only -6 points. As for Blytheville, the win was the fifth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trumann will take on Rivercrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rivercrest knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Trumann likes a good challenge. As for Blytheville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pocahontas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pocahontas will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
