Baseball Recap: Esperanza Aztecs vs. Savanna Rebels
Esperanza came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to the Savanna Rebels.
Esperanza saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Simms, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Devin Carlin also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Esperanza's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Savanna, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Esperanza will host Reno at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Savanna, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Century at 3:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Century 2.1, Savanna 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
