Basketball Recap: Starmount's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Starmount's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They skirted past the Elkin Buckin' Elks 43-41. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Buckin' Elks back in January, they had to take a 76-34 loss.

Starmount found their leader in sophomore Deuce Best, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Ryley Rodriguez was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Starmount smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They are 3-12 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Starmount's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-18. As for Elkin, they dropped their record down to 9-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

When Starmount and Elkin next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Starmount will try to stop South Stokes' 12-game winning streak when the meet at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Starmount is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season. Similarly, Elkin will challenge Alleghany and their three-game winning streak at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
