Recap: Fillmore Flashes vs. Channel Islands Raiders

The Fillmore Flashes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 70-52 to Channel Islands. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Fillmore of the 52-32 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Fillmore's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Octavio Orozco, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Isaac Weslow who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Orozco has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Ocegueda, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Fillmore has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Channel Islands, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fillmore will take on Santa Paula at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Paula has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 386 points over their last six matchups. As for Channel Islands, they will play host again and welcome Carpinteria, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Carpinteria is ranked 850th, while Channel Islands is ranked 843rd).
