Baseball Recap: Piedmont Gets the Win

Piedmont got themselves on the board against Parkwood on Friday, but Parkwood never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolf Pack, sneaking past 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 19, 2024.

Piedmont's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trent Polk, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Ethan Harvey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Piedmont's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Parkwood, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Piedmont Panthers challenge Central Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Piedmont surely won't give up without a fight. As for Parkwood, they will welcome Anson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
