Basketball Recap: Fernley Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Fernley extended their home winning streak to eight games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Taylor Tollestrup. The Fernley Vaqueros snuck past the Sierra Chieftains with a 52-47 victory on Monday thanks in part to Tollestrup, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Tollestrup is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Fernley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Sierra, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Fernley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Portola at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th. As for Sierra, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Tahoe at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Tahoe has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
