Baseball Recap: West Muskingum Has No Trouble Against Meadowbrook

After losing to Meadowbrook the last time they met, West Muskingum decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tornadoes blew past the Colts 12-2 on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Tornadoes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Connor Lynn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has become a key player for West Muskingum: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise. Lynn was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Preston Farrell, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. West Muskingum is undefeated when Farrell posts two or more runs, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Silas Kuhn, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

West Muskingum kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meadowbrook only managed four hits.

West Muskingum's record is now 11-9. As for Meadowbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
