Basketball Recap: Legacy Charter Falls Despite Big Games from Khori Polarchy and Jayden Richmond

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Legacy Charter can now relate to. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 65-46 to the Central Florida Christian Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Central Florida Christian Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-46 back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Legacy Charter had strong showings from Jayden Richmond, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points, and Khori Polarchy, who went 5 of 12 en route to 13 points. Thanks to that strong game, Richmond now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Khaliel Caldwell, who posted seven points.

Central Florida Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexander Dipaolo led the charge by going 7 of 9 to rack up 14 points and eight rebounds. Dipaolo is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Julian DeClou was another key player, going 6 for 8 on his way to 16 points and eight boards.

Legacy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Coming up, Legacy Charter will face off against Mount Dora Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount Dora Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Legacy Charter likes a good challenge. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-50 win against Orlando Christian Prep on the 11th.
