Preview: Athens Academy vs. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy
Eagle's Landing Christian Academy will face off against Athens Academy in a playoff contest on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Eagle's Landing Christian Academy skips in on seven wins and Athens Academy on 11.
Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Eagle's Landing Christian Academy and Prince Avenue Christian were playing football. Last Friday, the Chargers secured a 62-57 W over Prince Avenue Christian. Keaton Mitchell went supernova for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy as he rushed for 226 yards and five TDs on 22 carries. This makes it 11 games in a row in which Mitchell has produced a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Athens Academy earned some postseason bragging rights after a successful outing last week. They claimed a resounding 52-7 victory over Brookstone. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (45) and coasted on those for the win.
The Chargers took their matchup against the Spartans when the two teams last met in last December by a conclusive 44-17 score. The Chargers' win shoved the Spartans out of the playoffs, so expect the team to have a target on their back in this one.
