Hughes waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 73-63 win over the Western Hills Mustangs. Given the BIG RED's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hughes' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Western Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hughes will welcome Woodward at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
