Volleyball Recap: Taravella Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hallandale last Tuesday, Taravella came back down to earth. The Trojans fell just short of the Fort Lauderdale Flying L by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Trojans have struggled against the Flying L's recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Taravella actually scored more points across those five sets (97-90), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-22, 17-25, 8-25, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Taravella saw an underclassman step up: freshman Daniela Guarin had 12 digs and six aces. Guarin is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Taravella's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Fort Lauderdale, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-16.

Taravella has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against McArthur on the 8th. As for Fort Lauderdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Coral Springs Charter on the 8th.
