Basketball Recap: Center Point Takes a Loss

Center Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Pinson Valley Indians, falling 76-35. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.

Leading Pinson Valley to victory were Tyler 'Ty' Holifield and Rardrecus 'RJ' Addison. Holifield made all 6 shots he took racking up 19 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Addison shot 86% from the field on his way to 14 points and five steals. Holifield is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 100% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jalen 'JP' Pritchett, who posted eight points and six assists.

Center Point's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Center Point won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cornerstone at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinson Valley, they will be playing at home against Spain Park at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
