Recap: Lake View Wild Gators vs. Lamar Silver Foxes
The Lake View Wild Gators pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lamar. Lake View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lamar apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Lake View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayden Ford. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points. Ahmarion Nichols was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Xavier "Zoom" Jackson was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 16 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alvion Ward, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Lake View are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Lamar, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake View will challenge Hannah-Pamplico at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Hannah-Pamplico is ranked 237th, while Lake View is ranked 247th). As for Lamar, they will head out on the road to take on Green Sea Floyds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
