Volleyball Recap: Ridgewood Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Ridgewood had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 3-1 to the Cambridge Bobcats on Saturday. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Ridgewood lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Ayanna Masters paced Ridgewood's offense, picking up 22 kills. Masters got some help from Karli Stickdorn and her 37 assists. Stickdorn and Masters didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Ridgewood will square off against Malvern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cambridge, they will take on Martins Ferry at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
