Basketball Game Preview: Santa Teresa Desert Warriors vs. Deming Wildcats

Santa Teresa hasn't had much luck against Deming recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Santa Teresa Desert Warriors will face off against the Deming Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Santa Teresa was handed a 48-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Chaparral 32-30.

Meanwhile, Deming had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 71.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 39-34 W against the Fighting Colts.

Santa Teresa is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. As for Deming, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.

Santa Teresa was taken down by Deming 57-27 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Santa Teresa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
