Basketball Game Preview: Lemon Bay Manta Rays vs. Hardee Wildcats

Lemon Bay has gone 8-1 against Hardee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Manta Rays are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m.

On Friday, Lemon Bay came up short against Lakewood Ranch and fell 39-28.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Shania Leubin, who posted seven points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Monica Heeg was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hardee). They came out on top against Avon Park by a score of 51-41 on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Hardee's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Lemon Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Lemon Bay against Hardee when the teams last played back in November, as the squad secured a 53-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Manta Rays since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
