Softball Recap: St. Michael Catholic Takes a Loss

St. Michael Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs, falling 20-1. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

St. Michael Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Michael Blackmon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

St. Michael Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for UMS-Wright Prep, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Looking ahead, St. Michael Catholic will head out to challenge Orange Beach at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they will welcome Davidson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Davidson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so UMS-Wright Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
