Baseball Recap: Beech Buccaneers vs. Glenbard East Rams
Beech came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Glenbard East Rams, falling 12-2.
Beech got a good showing from Watson Storey, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, Beech saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Kennedy, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another was Aiden Curry, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Beech's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Glenbard East, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Looking ahead, Beech will be taking part in a tournament against Henry County at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Buccaneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Glenbard East, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Fenton at 4:30 p.m.
