Basketball Recap: Cassidy Freeman Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dodge County

Woodville-Tompkins proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 36) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 win over the Dodge County Indians. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Woodville-Tompkins' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cassidy Freeman, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. That's the most rebounds Freeman has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Morris, who shot 83% from the field on her way to 10 points and three steals.

Woodville-Tompkins smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Woodville-Tompkins' victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Dodge County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coming up, Woodville-Tompkins will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. Vincent's at 6:00 p.m. As for Dodge County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-49 loss against Telfair County on the 6th.
