Softball Recap: Chesapeake Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Chesapeake and Gallia Academy, and Gallia Academy kept the tradition alive. The Panthers lost 12-1 to the Blue Devils on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 9-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Chesapeake has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Gallia Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Chesapeake will take on Portsmouth at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gallia Academy, they will host Ironton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Tigers have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
