Preview: Eastside Tigers vs. Camden Catholic Fighting Irish
Eastside is 2-8 against Camden Catholic since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Eastside Tigers' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Camden Catholic Fighting Irish at 4:00 p.m. on January 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Eastside is ranked 44th, while Camden Catholic is ranked 68th).
Eastside pushed their score all the way to 56 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 77-56 loss at the hands of Richwoods. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Eastside has suffered yet this season.
Eastside's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jahaan Green, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds, and Will Love who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Green has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Tyrone Washam was another key contributor, scoring three points along with seven assists.
Meanwhile, Camden Catholic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past Woodstown with points to spare, taking the game 60-41.
Eastside has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Camden Catholic, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Eastside skirted past Camden Catholic 60-58 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Eastside repeat their success, or does Camden Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
