Miami faced Seminole Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Stingarees had just enough and edged out the Hawks 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Stingarees, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Miami had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 23-25, 26-24, 25-18, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Seminole Ridge still got an impressive performance from Pierce Giebenrath, who had 22 digs and three assists.

Miami has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Seminole Ridge, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 16-6 record.
